Your guide will then lead you on a wonderful tour to include Piazza San Marco to hear the origins of Venice. Then the main monuments: Basilica San Marco, Palazo Ducale, the Bell Tower, Clock Tower and Procuratie. Hear the anecdotes related to the wonderful and characteristic square of Santa Maria Formosa. Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo - known as the "Pantheon" of Venice, the Great School of Charity and the Captains of Fortune and Marco Polo's House.

You will then enter the Palazzo Ducale (the Doges Palace), represented for centuries, the seat of the Ventian political power. In the Duke's splendid rooms, plastered and immersed in hundreds of masterpieces of painting, the Duke and his Council controlled the fate of a thousand year Republican history.

During this tour you will relive this time with your guide who will show you the Halls of Power and plunge you into a very particular historical time: The European Middle Ages and the immediate following centuries.

You will be amazed by the rich details of the Gold staircase and by the realism of the scenes depicted by the many artists who have decorated the building.

As you cross the famous bridge of Sighs before entering the Venetian Prisons you will be able to imagine the anguish of the prisoners who took their last breath of fresh air as they crossed the famous bridge. The Prisons are famous for hosting Giacomco Casanova.
