Assisi is a town full of history and art and is the birthplace of St Francis, who founded the Order of the Franciscans. It is one of the most popular destinations visited by pilgrims from all over the world!

The mystical city of St.Francis is surrounded by ancient walls and lies on top of the green slopes of Mount Subasio. With its rose-stone buildings, winding narrow streets, noble palaces, and balconies full of flowers: it will hold you spellbound!

You will have a visit of the important Basilica of Saint Francis, with the masterpieces of Giotto and Cimabue.

You will then have a light lunch in a local restaurant. After you lunch you will then have some free time to wander about the small artisan shops of the old city.

After lunch we will travel to the lovely town of Perugia, birthplace of Perugino, Raphael's teacher and of course most famous for its amazingly decadent chocolates!

Please note that the small town of Assisi is located on a top of a hill and for that reason its streets are mostly narrow and steep.

Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

A strict dress code applies in Churches: Knees and shoulders must be covered. No shorts, 3/4 pants or mini skirts allowed.
