 As you enter the Museums you will visit the Gallery of the Chandeliers, the Gallery of the
Tapestries and the Gallery of the Maps, the Siobesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall.
Then culminate the visit of the Museums inside the amazing
Sistine Chapel, the seat of the Conclave. See the famous frescoes on the ceiling of the 9 Scenes
of the Book of Genesis and the Last Judgement by Michelangelo.
Then have a visit inside the
Basilica of St Peter, built
on the ruins of the old St Peter's Basilica under the Emperor
Constantine. As
you wander inside you will be in awe of the amazing size
as you look upwards at the amazing
dome. You will be able to see the beautiful masterpieces: the Pieta by
Michelangelo, the Holy Alter, the sculptures of Bernini and the
wonderful art
by Raphael.
After lunch you will enjoy a journey through some of the most important Basilicas and Catacombs in Rome
You will have a visit of the Papal Archbasilica of St John in Lateran, famous for its baroque and medieval masterpieces.
 You will also visit the Holy Stairs which, according to Roman Catholic tradition, were part of the praetorium of Pilate in Jerusalem, hence sanctified by Jesus Christ during his Passion.
You will then visit the splendid Basilica of Saint Mary Major, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Basilica will astonish you with its wonderful treasures.
Then pass through the Porta di San Sebastiano to arrive at the Catacombs. As you descend underground you will have the most amazing experience as you witness these ancient cemetries, believed to be, the hiding places of the early Christians.
The Vatican and the Catacombs are an experience not to be missed!

On Wednesdays the tour does not enter the Basilica due to the Papal Audience. There will be a Euro 3.00 per person reduction in price.
A strict dress code applies at the Vatican: Knees and shoulders must be covered. No shorts, 3/4 pants or mini skirts allowed.
We recommend you wear comfortable shoes as there is walking involved. |
