 As you enter the Museums you will visit the Gallery of the Chandeliers, the
Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of the Maps, the Siobesky Hall and the
Immaculate Conception Hall.
You will then culminate the visit of the Museums inside the amazing Sistine
Chapel with the famous frescoes on the ceiling
of the 9 Scenes of the Book of Genesis and the Last Judgement by Michelangelo.
Then visit inside the
Basilica of St Peter, built
on the ruins of the old St Peter's Basilica under the Emperor
Constantine. As
you wander inside you will be in awe of the amazing size as you take time to look upwards at the
amazing
dome. You will see the beautiful masterpieces: the Pieta
by
Michelangelo, the Holy Alter, the sculptures of Bernini and the
wonderful art
by Raphael.
The Vatican is an experience not to be missed!
 After lunch you will enjoy the spendour of the classic Roman Empire with a visit inside the Colosseum. The Flavian Amphitheatre was once used for gladiatorial contests and was the largest ever built in the
Roman Empire, completed in 80AD. As you wander around you will
breath the bloody past of the arena and soak up the atmosphere created
by your passionate and expert guide. You will feel like you can hear the
lions roar!
Then follow in the footsteps of Julius Caesar on the legendary
Via Sacra and enter the Roman Forum. Here you will see the Arch of
Constantine, the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus, the Curia the
Reggia and so much more.
You will visit the Palatine Hill,
home of the emperors.
From here you will have an amazing view of the Circus
Maximus the site of the ancient Chariot races.
You will begin to understand what was once the power of the Roman Empire!

On Wednesdays the tour does not enter the Basilica due to the Papal Audience. There will be a Euro 3.00 per person reduction in price.
A strict dress code applies at the Vatican: Knees and shoulders must be covered. No shorts, 3/4 pants or mini skirts allowed.
We recommend you wear comfortable shoes as there is walking involved. |
