Enjoy an excursion to the ancient ruins of Pompei

You will arrive at the ancient city of Pompei where Roman patricians lived before the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79AD.

Your guide will reconstruct the daily life of the inhabitants and you will understand their love for architecture, gardens and frescoes which can be seen in the ruins.

The heart of the city life, commercial and political activities was the Forum which is surrounded by a double colonnade with bronze and marble statues. You will see the ruins of the Basilica, the Comitium and the temples that testify to the religious culture of the time.

The most popular places of the city were the Thermae which included a calidarium (hot bath), tepidarium (warm bath) and frigidarium (cold bath) and the gymnasiums for sport activities.

The ancient gladiator games took place at the great eliptical Amphitheater which had a capacity of 12,000 people.

You will see the mosaics, statues and the petrified bodies and be amazed as you wander the streets with Mt Vesuvius in the background.

You will then be returned to your hotel in Naples.
